Buntan Defends Strawweight Kickboxing World Title Against Hemetsberger, Lee Faces Isojima At ONE Fight Night 40

Jackie Buntan vs Stella Hemetsberger 23

Two blockbuster showdowns are officially set for ONE Fight Night 40 on Prime Video, which airs live in U.S. primetime from Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium on February 13, 2026.

In the main event, ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion Jackie Buntan defends her coveted title against the division’s Muay Thai queen, Stella “Always Hungry” Hemetsberger, in a highly anticipated rematch.

Also, Hawaiian teenage star Adrian “The Phenom” Lee makes his return against Japanese dynamo Shozo “Great Teacher” Isojima in an explosive lightweight MMA clash.

Buntan and Hemetsberger originally met in the headline attraction of ONE Fight Night 35 on Prime Video for the vacant ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title.

That contest saw Hemetsberger score two knockdowns in the opening frame. While she remained competitive throughout the tilt, she wore the damage from the battle and weathered the Filipino-American’s comeback attempts across the remaining four rounds.

Still, Hemetsberger pressed forward to claim victory, capture the vacant belt, and become Austria’s first-ever ONE World Champion.

Now, the 26-year-old Austrian, who splits time between RS-GYM and Phuket Fight Club, seeks to make history again.

Should Hemetsberger defeat Buntan once more, she would elevate her near-flawless professional record to 10-1 and become just the third woman to achieve two-sport glory in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

But the Filipino-American has no intention of handing over her kickboxing crown to the person who temporarily took away her Muay Thai dreams.

Buntan, who owns a 27-7 career record, initially captured the inaugural strawweight kickboxing gold by defeating the legendary Anissa “C18” Meksen in November 2024.

Training under Bryan Popejoy and retired ONE Championship legend Janet Todd at Boxing Works in California, the 28-year-old queen has compiled victories over premier athletes including Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak, Ekaterina “Barbie” Vandaryeva, and Amber “AK 47” Kitchen.

For Buntan, this fight represents redemption. The memory of those first-round knockdowns fuels her preparation, driving her to prove that September’s result was just a setback rather than a changing of the guard.

Before that World Title rematch goes down, a pair of talented lightweight MMA fighters will seek to earn a slice of redemption following their first career defeats.

Lee burst onto the scene in June 2024, earning three consecutive submission victories and US$50,000 performance bonuses in his opening promotional appearances.

But the 19-year-old, who is the youngest member of the legendary Hawaii-based Lee family, suffered his first setback when Tye Ruotolo submitted him via rear-naked choke in the second round of their September 2025 clash.

Lee’s forthcoming opponent – Isojima – experienced a similar fate, as the 28-year-old Japanese sensation also fell to Ruotolo via rear-naked choke in November. That happened just weeks following his decisive promotional debut victory over Nicolas Vigna, which netted him a US$50,000 performance bonus.

Now, the global fan base will have a chance to see how each athlete responds to defeat.

For Lee, victory would re-ignite his momentum and prove that his three-bout winning streak wasn’t beginner’s luck but rather the beginning of a championship trajectory.

In Isojima’s case, defeating a member of the legendary Lee family would inch his record to 7-1 and represent a career-defining moment that establishes him as a legitimate contender in one of the sport’s most competitive divisions.

Adding even more intrigue is the fact that this lightweight MMA match has been nearly a year in the making.

The bout was originally scheduled for ONE 172 in March, but an injury forced Isojima to the sidelines. Now, with both men healthy and well adjusted to life in the world’s largest martial arts organization, they will finally stand toe-to-toe with even more at stake.
