Abdulla Dayakaev To Battle Saemapetch In Bantamweight Muay Thai Clash At ONE Fight Night 31

Russian phenom Abdulla Dayakaev is officially set for his U.S. primetime debut, and he’s being thrown into the deep end of the shark-infested bantamweight Muay Thai division.

On Friday, May 2, the 23-year-old striker will square off with decorated former ONE World Title challenger Saemapetch Fairtex in a high-stakes showdown at ONE Fight Night 31: Kongthoranee vs. Nong-O II on Prime Video.

That contest will take place at the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Dayakaev has enjoyed a meteoric rise on the global stage since making his ONE debut in November 2023.

The rising star from Team Mehdi Zatout has rattled off six victories in seven appearances at ONE Friday Fights — including four highlight-reel finishes.

In his most recent fight, Dayakaev celebrated his birthday with a brutal body-shot knockout of Italy’s Alessio Malatesta. That win earned him a coveted six-figure contract and a spot on ONE’s global roster.

Now loaded with momentum and confidence, the Russian looks poised to take the bantamweight Muay Thai division by storm, but he’ll first have to get past an experienced and respected veteran in Saemapetch.

Beloved for his fearless approach to combat, the 30-year-old Thai boasts more than 125 career victories, nine of which have come in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

But while Saemapetch has spent the past seven years competing against the best of the best in ONE’s bantamweight Muay Thai division, he’ll enter ONE Fight Night 31 on a two-fight skid.

The Fairtex Training Center representative will be looking to prove that he’s still a true World Title threat – and take out one of Muay Thai’s most promising young talents in the process.

Dayakaev, meanwhile, knows that a victory over Saemapetch would erase any doubts that he belongs on the global stage and could lead to a top-five opponent next.
