‘It Adds Color To My Life’ – How Muay Thai Star Supergirl Found A Second Home On The Runway

Supergirl

Thai striking star Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak has been fighting in front of crowds since she was a kid. So when the cameras of the fashion world turned her way, she was ready before they even started rolling.

This Friday, March 13, live in U.S. primetime, the runway gives way to the ring, as “Supergirl” returns to action against Hong Kong warrior Yu Yau Pui in an atomweight Muay Thai contest inside Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium at ONE Fight Night 41: Sinsamut vs. Jarvis on Prime Video.

Between managing her gym, building her fighting career, and exploring a world away from the global stage, the 22-year-old has been quietly carving out a second identity defined by high-fashion photoshoots, avant-garde outfits, and an appetite for trying things most fighters never would.

Modeling wasn’t a calculated career move or a grand reinvention. It arrived as a welcome change of scenery from the gym and her profession, and the next interesting thing to do.

“Supergirl” told onefc.com:

“I’m not doing it full-time yet. I just take on jobs here and there when they come up, mostly for a change of pace. My main focus right now is managing our new gym.

“But you know, like any woman, I love having beautiful photos. It’s a great way to try new things, meet new people, and just broaden my horizons.”

The interviews, the spotlight, the pressure of performing on demand, none of it was new to the Thai, who has logged 40 professional Muay Thai victories and debuted in ONE Championship at the age of 16.

When the fashion world came calling, that experience translated immediately. The transition that trips up most first-time models — the self-consciousness, the stiffness in front of a lens — simply never showed up for her.

The Supergirl Jaroonsak Gym founder was already comfortable in front of the camera. She had been her whole life:

“I actually had almost no trouble adjusting to the fashion world at all. I feel very comfortable with it, and it’s been a lot of fun. I’ve been fighting since I was a kid, so I’m used to interviews and sports shoots. It doesn’t phase me.”

But comfortable barely scratches the surface. In fact, stepping onto a set felt less like crossing into unfamiliar territory and more like a natural extension of everything “Supergirl” had already been doing.

The behind-the-scenes machinery of a professional fashion shoot, however, offered the Muay Thai specialist a different kind of excitement.

The 22-year-old reflected:

“What I really enjoy is the process, how a professional shoot works behind the scenes, because it’s so different from fight photos.

“Getting to wear new outfits and seeing myself in a completely different light — moving from a sporty look to something more high-fashion — is just really fun and challenging.”

A Fighter In A Different Kind Of Spotlight

Among the fashion gigs Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak has taken on, one stands comfortably above the rest: The PUMA x ARIES collab in London, England.

It was everything a first major international modeling job should be, and the people behind the lens made it even better for the Thai, who typically spends most of her days in her Muay Thai shorts at the gym.

She added:

“Modeling for that collaboration was such an enjoyable experience – the backdrop was stunning, and the final shots looked incredible. It was perfect.

“I’d say the photographers make modeling even easier. They’re so good at hyping you up and making it fun. Sometimes they have these really wild, creative ideas, and it ends up feeling like you’re just hanging out and taking photos with friends.”

It is a side of her that the fight world rarely gets to see.

Away from the gym and the Circle, “Supergirl” leans into the creative and the unconventional. The more unusual the brief, the better.

She continued:

“I love the weird, avant-garde stuff — clothes that people wouldn’t normally wear in daily life. Having all those props is fun. Plus, trying on all these different styles makes me realize, ‘Hey, I actually look good in this!’ It’s definitely influenced my personal style a bit.”

The physical demands of a shoot, though, is where the comparison stops entirely. There is glamor in fashion, but there is no confusing it with the unmistakable grind of a fight camp.

“Supergirl” has been conditioning her body for combat since she was a toddler — double sessions, pad work, sparring, and the relentless physical toll that comes with preparing to compete at the highest level.

A long day on set, by comparison, is a breeze:

“In terms of stamina, shooting is way easier than fighting. A 4 to 6-hour shoot is a piece of cake compared to boxing training. Training is way tougher.”

For now, modeling remains a passion project rather than a career pivot and The Thai slugger is fully focused on the task that awaits her inside Lumpinee Stadium on March 13.

However, “Supergirl” is building something bigger outside her martial arts journey, one new experience at a time.

The 22-year-old concluded:

“I enjoy trying new things, and right now, I’m planning to expand into a new business, though I’ll keep the details a secret for now.

“Everything I do is a learning experience. Since I’ve spent my entire life in the boxing ring, being able to try something different is fun. It adds color to my life.”
