Sung Ming Yen’s martial arts career began as a high-school student in Chinese Taiwan’s Hsinchu County, when he joined his school’s taekwondo club. After spending time also studying sanda, Muay Thai, and judo, he found his true calling in mixed martial arts.
Throughout his career, Sung has competed in Singapore, Macau and Cambodia, and aside from competing, he has become even more of a familiar face after working as a Chinese language commentator on ONE Championship’s global broadcast.
Sung owns a chain of martial arts schools in Taipei called Martial Armor, which has produced several promising talents. In his bouts, he always wears a suit and tie when he walks into the cage, because he wants people to realize that martial artists are serious, hard working, respectable professionals.
