Growing up, Kayin native Saw L Lay didn’t have it easy. In fact, he didn’t live with his parents, and it wasn’t until he was older that he found his father and moved in with him.
Although he first started with boxing, Saw L Lay soon discovered Lethwei, and began training exclusively in it, eventually becoming a professional fighter. Now with 21 wins to his name, he is setting out to showcase Myanmar’s national martial art to the world through MMA and ONE Championship.
To achieve this, he has trained hard on improving his takedowns, a skill he would put to good use in his successful ONE Championship and professional MMA debut at the 2015 event in Yangon.
