WFO Muay Thai World Champion Luis Regis is originally from Brusque, a German settlement in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. When he was 19 years old, he decided he wanted to see the world, and sold all his material possessions including his beloved Volkswagen Golf to go on a surf adventure in Australia. Little did he know, he would end up living there for over a decade, and it would lead to a highly-successful professional career in the ring.
Regis first experimented in martial arts with judo as a youth, but really became hooked when he tried the Brazilian art of capoeira in his early teenaged years. After his move to Australia, he began training in Muay Thai and proved to be a prodigious talent. After just six months, he stepped into the ring for the first time, and has since put together an excellent winning record as a professional, with more than half of his victories coming by way of knockout.
With a potent blend of power and technique, Regis earned New South Wales, Australian, and Commonwealth titles in Muay Thai, as well as the World Fight Organisation Muay Thai World Championship. He describes the idea of competing on the global stage of ONE Super Series as a dream come true, and says that a ONE World Title would be the culmination of over a decade of hard work.
