A pair of new flyweight World Champions were crowned at the start of the calendar year for ONE, as China’s Xiong Jing Nan and the Philippines’ Geje Eustaquio won gold for their respective nations. For Xiong, it was a blistering striking display that saw her outduel Singapore’s Tiffany Teo to become the inaugural ONE Women’s Flyweight World Champion. For Eustaquio, it was a tactical stick-and-move approach on the feet, as well as improved takedown defense, that allowed him to take home the ONE Interim Flyweight belt in a rematch with Kazakhstan’s Kairat Akhmetov.
