Sean Climaco Injured, Bout With Johan Ghazali Removed From ONE Fight Night 39

Johan Ghazali and Sean Climaco

The highly anticipated flyweight Muay Thai showdown between Johan “Jojo” Ghazali and Sean “The One” Climaco has been pulled from ONE Fight Night 39: Rambolek vs. Dayakaev on Prime Video due to a foot injury suffered by the Filipino-American fighter.

The pair was scheduled to collide in American primetime on Friday, January 23, in Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium, but Climaco’s withdrawal means fans will have to wait longer for this intriguing matchup between two dynamic strikers.

Ghazali has been looking to build momentum after his electrifying first-round TKO victory over Morocco’s Zakaria El Jamari last September. The 19-year-old Malaysian-American sensation was brimming with confidence following that performance.

The Rentap Muaythai Gym and Superbon Training Camp product exploded onto the scene with his ONE Friday Fights debut in 2023, where he floored Padetsuk Fairtex in just 16 seconds to announce his arrival in spectacular fashion.

“Jojo” then barreled through the flyweight Muay Thai division with five consecutive victories, earning a coveted six-figure contract to compete in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

With seven promotional wins and six explosive finishes to his name, the teenage phenom has established himself as one of the division’s most dangerous finishers. After a challenging start to 2025, however, he closed the year with an impressive victory and was eager to kickstart another winning streak.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old Climaco arrived at ONE Championship as the Road to ONE: America tournament winner, bringing California-bred striking to the global stage.

The Filipino-American representative from Smash Fighter and CSA Gym has experienced mixed results since joining the promotion, but he has also collected two impressive victories over battle-hardened strikers.

In 2025, Climaco opened his campaign with a statement win over Diego Paez before suffering a hard-fought loss to Azerbaijani sensation Akif “The King” Guluzada. The California native was looking to bounce back and prove he belongs among the division’s elite contenders.

While this matchup won’t come to fruition on January 23, it remains an intriguing stylistic clash that fans eagerly anticipate.
