Rodtang Jitmuangnon To Defend Muay Thai World Title Against Edgar Tabares At ONE Fight Night 10

Rodtang Jitmuangnon makes his way to the Circle at ONE Fight Night 6

Reigning flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon is determined to capture a second golden belt and defend his World Title – all in the span of just two months.

On May 5 at ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III, “The Iron Man” will put his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title on the line against dangerous Mexican striker Edgar Tabares.

That fight will mark both Rodtang’s and ONE Championship’s highly anticipated debut on United States soil, bringing elite Muay Thai to a North American venue while broadcasting live on Prime Video.

To make matters more interesting, that World Title defense will come just six weeks after the Thai superstar challenges Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video.

If all goes according to Rodtang’s plan, he’ll defeat Superlek in Singapore on March 24, capturing the flyweight kickboxing throne to become a rare two-sport ONE World Champion.

He then intends to walk into 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, and defend his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title against the hard-charging Tabares.

Simply put, “The Iron Man” plans to live up to his moniker.

Undefeated across 13 electrifying Muay Thai and kickboxing bouts inside the Circle, the 25-year-old phenom has emerged as one of the planet’s most entertaining combat sports athletes, revered for his granite chin, inimitable showmanship, and explosive striking.

Rodtang’s appearance at ONE Fight Night 10 will be his fifth defense of the flyweight Muay Thai belt, making him one of the promotion’s longest-reigning World Champions, in addition to one of its biggest international stars.

But despite that impressive resume, Tabares will be no pushover.

The 28-year-old brawler is Mexico’s first WBC Muay Thai International Champion and possesses an ultra-aggressive style of striking that’s sure to test the defending king’s trademark durability.

And considering that Rodtang will be just weeks removed from his battle with Superlek, the challenger could be poised to spring an unforgettable upset and spoil “The Iron Man’s” grand plans.
