Panpayak Out, Petkhaokradong Vs. Ali Kelat Elevated To ONE Friday Fights 136 Main Event
There has been a massive shakeup at ONE Friday Fights 136, which goes live in Asia primetime on December 12, from Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium.
“The Angel Warrior” Panpayak Jitmuangnon, who was originally slated to face Chinese striking sensation Zhao Chongyang, has withdrawn from the fight due to illness, forcing the flyweight kickboxing bout to be removed from the lineup.
As a result, the lightweight Muay Thai showdown between Petkhaokradong Lukjaomaesaithong and Ali Kelat has been elevated to main event status.
The 20-year-old Petkhaokradong is looking to score another big victory, and move a step closer toward ONE Championship’s coveted main-roster spotlight.
After stumbling in his promotional debut against former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Alaverdi “Babyface Killer” Ramazanov at ONE Friday Fights 124 in September, the Thai rising star rebounded in spectacular fashion.
At ONE Friday Fights 133, he detonated a massive left punch to stop Morocco’s Ayoub El Khadraoui in just 53 seconds — an explosive victory that immediately turned him into a surging star to watch out for.
Standing opposite Petkhaokradong in the new main event is Kelat, a man capable of matching his intensity and high level of destruction.
In Kelat’s promotional debut at ONE Friday Fights 121 this past August, the Team Mehdi Zatout athlete overwhelmed Russia’s Michael Baranov with relentless pressure and booming punches to score a second-round TKO.
Now, the Turkish star aims to claim his 20th career victory and further build his case as one of the most dangerous names in the weekly spectacle.
The two athletes previously competed at featherweight, but now each man seeks to carve out a place in ONE’s deep lightweight Muay Thai division.
A win in Friday’s main event would accelerate that climb in a major way.
