Xavier Gonzalez scored the most emphatic victory of his ONE Championship career with a thunderous one-punch knockout of Payaksurin JP Power in the co-main event of ONE Friday Fights 157. The flyweight Muay Thai bout went down Friday, June 5, live in Asia primetime from Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium.
It was far from a straightforward night for the Tor Sangtiennoi affiliate. His 21-year-old Thai opponent tested him early, peppering him with a barrage of left high kicks and keeping him on the outside with a stabbing push kick that disrupted his rhythm.
Despite the early assault, the 24-year-old Spaniard stuck to his game plan. He stayed patient, working behind pistol-like jabs and refusing to be drawn into a firefight.
