ONE Friday Fights 145 Main Event Result: Surging Worapon Scores Destructive First-Round Finish Over Brossier
Worapon Lukjaoporongtom gave French promotional newcomer Arthur “Codjoe” Brossier a rough welcome in their bantamweight Muay Thai main event at ONE Friday Fights 145.
The Thai striker fulfilled his promise to unleash his spectacular techniques, doing so in front of a passionate crowd inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok live in Asia primetime on Friday, March 6.
After becoming the first fighter in the weekly spectacle to finish the ultra-durable Soe Lin Oo with a stunning head kick two months ago, the 23-year-old went back to the same weapon to drop his foe early in the first round.
Though Brossier managed to beat the count, it wasn’t long before the Thai star scored the second and final knockdown, launching a right elbow before attacking with the same weapon from the left side.
The strike landed at 1:56 of the opening frame, sealing a knockout victory for Worapon.
With the first-round stoppage win, the rising Thai striker earned the 70th victory of his professional career and moved closer to the coveted US$100,000 main-roster contract with the world’s largest martial arts organization.
