‘I Will Put His Lights Out’ – Rambolek Aims To Finish Abdulla Dayakaev In High-Stakes ONE Fight Night 39 Main Event
Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon is ready to settle unfinished business when he meets Abdulla “Smash Boy” Dayakaev in a bantamweight Muay Thai main event showdown at ONE Fight Night 39 on Prime Video, airing live from Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, January 23, in U.S. primetime.
The two elite strikers were originally scheduled to collide in November of last year, but the bout was postponed after Dayakaev was forced to withdraw due to injury. Now rebooked, their long-awaited clash arrives with even higher stakes, as both men continue to surge toward the top of the division.
The Thai sensation enters ONE Fight Night 39 riding a four-fight winning streak and carrying the confidence of a fighter who has evolved rapidly since earning a six-figure contract from the ONE Friday Fights event series.
Now mastering his Muay Thai craft at Superbon Training Camp, the 22-year-old has paired his trademark power with sharper timing, improved defense, and a wider offensive arsenal.
Still, he recognizes the danger across the ring:
“Dayakaev is a very skilled fighter. There’s been some hype that he and I should fight against one another. There has to be a decision of who is going to be better because we missed it in our last event.
“I have been watching him in every fight. I have honestly studied his past fights, probably all of them, to see if he has any weakness. I watch them in order to prepare my counter strategy.”
With momentum, attention, and potential future opportunities at stake – including a possible path toward reigning ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane – Rambolek knows this main event is more than just another fight. It’s a statement moment.
On the other hand, Dayakaev has emerged as one of the division’s most dangerous finishers, registering a 75 percent finishing rate in eight victories since his arrival in the world’s largest martial arts organization in November 2023.
While acknowledging Dayakaev’s strengths, Rambolek believes the stylistic matchup favors him:
“Dayakaev’s fighting style? Punches, nothing more. His strengths include his powerful strikes and the punches. The advantages I have include my variety of Muay Thai weapons. I may have better speed compared to him, too.
“I would describe myself as a second-step fighter. I wait for the timing when the opponent strikes and misses, and I can respond very accurately. All he has is his punch, while I am equipped with everything.”
Rambolek also carries momentum of his own, with back-to-back TKO victories in his most recent appearances.
First, he unleashed stinging kick and punch combinations to halt Parham Gheirati’s six-fight winning streak in the second round at ONE Fight Night 29.
Most recently, at ONE Fight Night 35, he demolished Dmitrii Kovtun with a two-punch combination in the second round.
Now facing a fellow knockout artist, Rambolek has embraced the verbal edge heading into the matchup, responding directly to Dayakaev’s nickname and growing hype:
“The ‘Smash Boy’ wouldn’t be able to smash me because he will be smashed by me first. In our fight, I will put his lights out.”
Rambolek Seeks World Title Shot With A Win Over Dayakaev
For Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon, the stakes at ONE Fight Night 39 extend beyond a single win.
The Thai standout has been clear about his long-term ambitions, but he also understands that every step toward gold must be earned.
The 22-year-old explained:
“My biggest goal is being a champion. For now, I just need to focus on this fight. If I ever get through this, I think I might get a chance to get [a shot at the] championship.
“If I get my victory in this upcoming fight, I think there is a chance that I will get to fight with Nabil.”
A victory in the ONE Fight Night 39 main event would place Rambolek firmly among the division’s elite and keep conversations moving toward the top of the ladder currently ruled by ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane.
But first, Rambolek must get past the man in front of him, and he has just the motivation. Competing in front of the deafening Lumpinee Stadium crowd is something Rambolek plans to use to his advantage.
He added:
“I would like to tell my fans to be prepared for a sore throat. Because they’re going to roar.
“And I will put my all into it. I am confident that I will be able to gain this victory for the fans and the Thai people.”
