‘I Am Greater Than Him’ – Boucher Ketchup Wants To Prove He Is Senegal’s Top Fighter Against Reug Reug

Boucher Ketchup

Boucher Ketchup promises to bring excitement to every aspect of his ONE Championship debut at ONE Fight Night 23: Ok vs. Rasulov on Prime Video

The Senegalese star already has a reputation for entertaining the masses in his homeland, and he wants to extend his reach internationally against compatriot “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane in U.S. primetime this Friday, July 5.

The rivals will meet in a heavyweight kickboxing clash at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and Ketchup is planning to make the most of the massive opportunity.

He told onefc.com

“I’m known in Senegal for the electrifying atmosphere I bring to combat sports, from the press to the faceoff up until the arena. It’s never a dull moment when Boucher Ketchup is around!”

As two of Senegal’s biggest fighting stars, Ketchup and “Reug Reug” have been on a potential collision course for a long time, but it had never come to fruition.

However, the wait has been worth it. They will officially throw down in the world’s largest martial arts organization – and the 34-year-old debutant expects to prove his superiority:

“I am fighting ‘Reug Reug’ to show the Senegal fans and the world that I am greater than him. It was always a fight to be made, and it’s now finally happening.”

Ketchup Promises Knockout At ONE Fight Night 23

Boucher Ketchup may be a new face to ONE Championship fans, but he’s no stranger to Oumar Kane.

The pair cut their teeth on the same Senegalese wrestling circuit, and now, their paths will cross at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

“Reug Reug” has already enjoyed plenty of success in ONE – posting a 5-1 slate in the MMA ranks as he prepares to challenge Anatoly Malykhin for the heavyweight crown at ONE 169: Atlanta in November – but Boucher Ketchup thinks their shared background will make him easier to read in Friday’s contest.

Ketchup explained:

“His strengths are similar to mine as we have the same combat origin. He transitioned into MMA before me, but it’s the same origin.

“His weakness is fighting someone who knows him from Senegal wrestling. I know every move he’s going to make.”

Although both men pack considerable size and power, Boucher Ketchup thinks he’ll use his speed advantage to beat “Reug Reug” to the punch when it matters.

The debuting heavyweight isn’t alone in thinking this colossal matchup won’t need the judges, and he’s backing himself to leave Bangkok with a new level of respect:

“I’ll knock him out in the second round and show ONE I can do it. Boucher Ketchup is here!”
