‘Beating Hyu Would Be Huge’ – Suablack Targets Career-Defining Victory Over Undefeated Kickboxing Ace At ONE Fight Night 41
Thai striking sensation Suablack Tor Pran49 is determined to make a statement when he faces Hyu in a high-stakes showdown at ONE Fight Night 41 on Prime Video.
The 29-year-old will meet the Team Mehdi Zatout and TEAM3K product in flyweight kickboxing action on Friday, March 13, live in U.S. primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Suablack, who is famous on social media for his powerful legs, was riding a two-fight winning streak before losing to veteran striker Pakorn PK Saenchai in his last outing. The southpaw technician has compiled eight promotional victories overall but is now looking to bounce back against the unbeaten Japanese kickboxer.
The Thai striker reflected on his most recent setback and what went wrong against Pakorn, a fighter he knew well from training together in the past.
He explained:
“Honestly, it just came down to me not performing well on the night. I put too much pressure on myself. Plus, we used to train together, so he could read my game and anticipate my moves pretty easily.
“I’m not dwelling on the fact that I missed out on a three-fight winning streak. Fighting Pakorn was a great experience — being able to test my skills against someone like him for the full three rounds was a win in itself.”
Following that loss, he decided to move down to flyweight, representing a significant change that could define the next chapter of Suablack’s ONE Championship journey.
He’s confident the weight cut won’t affect his performance and believes the move will extend his career while opening new opportunities.
Suablack said:
“I’m confident that this move to flyweight will be seamless. My weight, my training, and my self-care are all perfect. I’ve only got maybe four or five years left in this sport, and I want to go as far as I can.”
He is transitioning again from Muay Thai to kickboxing, a challenge that many fighters struggle to navigate successfully.
The rule differences create adjustments that can expose weaknesses in fighters who haven’t properly adapted their approach. Suablack, however, embraces the opportunity to prove his versatility across both striking disciplines.
The southpaw striker declared:
“When the promotion offered me a kickboxing match at flyweight, I accepted immediately. I’m a professional, and I’m ready to compete in both Muay Thai and kickboxing. I feel great. I’m confident I’ll deliver.
“I get why people see me as the underdog since Hyu is a kickboxing specialist and I’m coming from Muay Thai. But I think my Muay Thai experience gives me an edge in reading the fight and adapting.”
Suablack Plans Cautious Approach Against The Explosive Japanese Finisher
Suablack Tor Pran49, known for his muay femur style, has studied Hyu’s perfect professional record extensively. The Thai veteran has watched every finish, analyzed every combination, and identified exactly what makes the Japanese striker so dangerous.
Hyu enters the bout with an unblemished 12-0 striking record and a perfect 4-0 mark in the world’s largest martial arts organization.
Suablack has studied his opponent carefully and recognizes the significant threat Hyu poses, particularly his ability to capitalize on any opening:
“Hyu is an absolute beast in kickboxing. He’s fast, carries heavy power in every shot, and has those dangerous combos that can end a fight in a heartbeat. The second he sees his opponent wobble, he swarms. This is a massive test for me.
“I’m going to fight with IQ. From what I’ve seen, people who try to brawl with Hyu usually get countered and knocked out. I’m not going to play into his hands by being overly aggressive. I need to keep it tight and controlled.”
A victory over the undefeated star would be career-defining for Suablack and open doors to the biggest names in the flyweight divisions across both Muay Thai and kickboxing.
He concluded:
“Beating Hyu would be huge. It would prove that I’m a solid contender at flyweight in both Muay Thai and kickboxing. If I get past him, I’m ready for anyone in the division.
“If I start the year with a big win over Hyu, I want the big names or the ranked fighters next. I’m looking at guys like Asadula [Imangazaliev], Akif [Guluzada], Aslamjon [Ortikov], or Kongthoranee [Sor Sommai]. I’m ready for any of them.”
