‘A Great Session’ – Ben Woolliss Feels The Thunder As ‘Thor’ Star Chris Hemsworth Hits The Pads In Thailand

Chris Hemsworth and Ben Woolliss shared the mats in Krabi, Thailand.

Thor may have kept the hammer in Asgard, but this week, in Thailand, Chris Hemsworth hit the pads with Ben “The Problem” Woolliss, and the only thing flashing like lightning was the striking.

Best known for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Hollywood megastar traded the red cape and hammer for a pair of boxing gloves. He is filming “Extraction 3” in the country, and he linked up with the Englishman at Huracan Fitness in Krabi.

Once the gloves were on, the work was real. Woolliss held the pads as Hemsworth worked through hooks and combinations, with kicks seemingly taking center stage.

Kicks that land like thunderclaps are something of a superpower for the 32-year-old Brit, after all. He needed just one round to stop former ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion John Lineker with a barrage of calf kicks in his ONE Championship debut.

A Marvel star who follows combat sports, a gym in Krabi, and a kickboxer holding the pads — it all sounds like the perfect setup for a crossover trailer. The Englishman has the director’s cut.

Woolliss told onefc.com:

“It was a great session just hitting the pads and teaching him some techniques and tweaking some stuff. He picked those bits up great. He’s a great guy, and it was good to catch up with him and his team. They are all a bunch of great guys. He had really good skills, too.”

Hemsworth has plenty of action headed to screens. He has a third outing as former black-ops mercenary Tyler Rake in “Extraction 3,” and Thor’s return in “Avengers: Doomsday,” in theaters this December.

Woolliss is not the first ONE athlete to cross paths with the star in Thailand, though.

Former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon paid him a surprise visit earlier this week.

Woolliss Finds Thor’s Real Hammer

Rodtang Jitmuangnon brought the surprise. Ben Woolliss, meanwhile, brought the pads, and with them a front-row seat to what Chris Hemsworth can really do.

Nothing on screen matches Mjolnir – Thor’s legendary hammer – but “The Problem” was asked to find the closest thing in Hemsworth’s real-life arsenal. After a full session on the pads, the fighter had a pick.

Woolliss said:

“He’s got a great right hand, and that right kick was heavy.”

On his end, the Grimsby native cannot wait to get back on the global stage of martial arts.

The 32-year-old is determined to add a second promotional win to his name, and a tough run of opponents has only sharpened that hunger.

Thor kept the hammer in Asgard, but when “The Problem” returns, he plans to bring plenty of thunder of his own.
