In Photos: Rungrawee Puts Iconic Kicks On Display At Open Workout Ahead Of The Inner Circle
Rungrawee “Legatron” Sitsongpeenong opened the doors of his home gym on Tuesday, April 1, where he displayed his crisp striking skills and spoke to the media about his upcoming World Title showdown.
The 30-year-old Thai contender took part in an open workout session at Sitsongpeenong Gym in Bangkok, Thailand, ahead of his clash with reigning ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Champion Regian “The Immortal” Eersel for the vacant ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title.
The duo will meet in the main event of The Inner Circle, which goes down live in Asia primetime from Bangkok’s historic Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, April 10. Fans can watch it exclusively on live.onefc.com.
Hailing from the province of Ubon Ratchathani, the 5-foot-11 Rungrawee has built his career on one of the most feared weapons in the lightweight Muay Thai and kickboxing divisions.
The Thai’s punishing leg kicks have become so synonymous with his style that they have earned him the nickname “Legatron,” and his 158-48 record is a testament to just how effective that signature weapon has been throughout his two-decade run.
Since joining ONE Championship in 2023, the Sitsongpeenong product has hit the ground running, reeling off three consecutive unanimous decision victories over Mustafa Al Tekreeti, Vladimir Gabov, and Nauzet Trujillo.
A tough first-round knockout loss momentarily interrupted his momentum, but the resilient Thai responded in characteristic fashion, winning three of his next four bouts. Most recently, he earned a unanimous decision over Youssef Assouik to set the stage for this career-defining opportunity.
Now, Rungrawee arrives at a crossroads. A win on April 10 would crown him the ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Champion and add a new chapter to the storied legacy of Sitsongpeenong Gym.
But the man standing between Rungrawee and that dream is one of the most accomplished strikers in the promotion’s history.
The 33-year-old Eersel carries a 64-5 career record, including 13 promotional victories, into this World Title contest. The Dutch-Surinamese warrior out of Sityodtong Amsterdam has long been considered one of the most complete strikers on the planet, and his track record inside the ring speaks for itself.
But on April 10, on home soil at Lumpinee Stadium, Rungrawee will look to show that “Legatron” is more than a nickname. It is a warning.
