Chen Lei’s May victory in Singapore, in a fight staged under the auspices of the ONE Championship – a mixed martial arts media company based in the Lion City – continued the rising Chinese MMA star’s winning streak.

ONE Championship chairman Chatri Sityodtong has issued an open invitation to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), following its senior official’s comments on ONE’s atomweight champion Angela Lee. Last week, UFC senior vice-president for International and Content, Joe Carr, told The New Paper that Lee was “long way from competing with the top strawweight women in the UFC”.
