‘More Nerve-Wracking Than Fighting’ – Ratchasiesan Steps Beyond The Ring As A Community Leader

Kulabdam (Ratchasiesan)

Ratchasiesan Laochokcharoen is still the same dangerous striker fans once knew as Kulabdam, the man behind the “Left Meteorite” moniker.

But as he prepares for his return at ONE Friday Fights 147 on March 20, the former two-division Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion is stepping into the ring with a new responsibility that extends far beyond the four corners of it.

The Thai knockout artist faces Uzair Ismoiljonov in bantamweight Muay Thai action at Lumpinee Stadium, entering the bout looking to bounce back after a narrow loss to PTT Apichart Farm at ONE Friday Fights 137.

He said:

“After the PTT fight, I actually ran for a seat in the Sub-district Administrative Organization (SAO) in my hometown and got elected! It feels great to have a life plan outside of fighting.

“I was inspired by the seniors I know in politics and wanted to develop my village. Being a well-known athlete helps because it’s easier for me to coordinate with higher-ups to get things done.”

In his home region of Isaan, where he first found his path in Muay Thai, he now serves in a role that reaches far outside the sport.

Long before stepping into public service, Ratchasiesan had established himself as one of Thailand’s most experienced and battle-tested strikers.

Across more than 100 professional bouts, the 27-year-old has built his resume through a relentless, aggressive style, collecting 75 wins against both local and international opposition.

That consistency has translated into success at the highest level. Prior to his last outing, he had won four of his previous five fights in ONE.

Now representing PK Saenchai Muaythaigym and Somboon Farm, Ratchasiesan carries that experience into every fight, along with a growing platform outside the ring.

For him, that platform is not just about recognition but responsibility shaped by his own journey through the sport.

He said:

“My main focus is the youth. I want to pull in budgets for sports like football, takraw, and Muay Thai to keep kids on the right track and give them career opportunities.”

Ratchasiesan Channels Knockout Power Into Community Responsibility

While Ratchasiesan Laochokcharoen’s focus inside the ring remains unchanged, life outside it has taken on a completely different meaning.

He faces Uzair Ismoiljonov at ONE Friday Fights 147 looking to return to the win column. But today, he represents more than himself, carrying the expectations of an entire community that looks to him for leadership.

The transition has brought a new kind of pressure, one that feels very different from stepping into the ring under the bright lights.

He said:

“Honestly, being a public representative is more nerve-wracking than fighting. I’m responsible for over 600 lives now. If anyone is in trouble, they come to me to bring their issues to the council.

“I’m proud of this role. I might be the youngest guy in the room, but I’m ready to push my hometown to be the best in the province.”

Unlike the controlled environment of a fight camp, his responsibilities now extend into everyday life. Instead of focusing solely on opponents and game plans, he spends time listening to villagers, attending meetings, and helping address issues within his community.

It is a different kind of routine, but one that mirrors the discipline he developed through years in Muay Thai. The same consistency and accountability required in training now shape how he approaches his role outside competition.

His reputation in “the art of eight limbs” even earned him a new nickname.

He explained:

“People ask if I have time for both, and the answer is definitely yes. Most of my work involves listening to villagers and attending council meetings. My training schedule remains the same and doesn’t interfere with my official duties — I’ve done my homework on the regulations.

“I actually find the ‘Deadliest SAO Member’ nickname pretty funny. It’s a good feeling to see fans supporting my life choices.”
