5 Things You Need To Know About Croatian MMA Superstar And New ONE Signing Roberto Soldic

Two-division MMA Champion Roberto Soldic

ONE Championship confirmed the signing of Roberto Soldic earlier this week, and fans can’t wait to see him get down to business on the global stage.

ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong described Soldic as “the hottest free agent on the planet today,” and at 27 years old, the Croatian sensation has much more to come in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

Here are five things you need to know about the man they call “Robocop” before he makes his first appearance inside the Circle.

#1 He’s A KO Machine

The most exciting thing about Soldic is his incredible finishing ability.

The hard-hitting Croatian has ended 18 of his 20 MMA victories inside the distance, with 17 of those coming by knockout.

He can be fast and furious if the opportunity is there – owning 10 first-round KOs – but he also carries his power into the later rounds, making him dangerous from the first bell to the last.

#2 He’s A Decorated Two-Division MMA Champion

Soldic enters with an impressive list of accolades on his resume.

As well as several regional belts, “Robocop” held the welterweight and middleweight titles in KSW – Europe’s largest mixed martial arts promotion.

The Polish outfit boasts a world-class roster, which makes Soldic’s feat even more impressive. Along the way, he earned knockout wins over the likes of Mamed Khalidov, Dricus Du Plessis, and Michal Materla.

#3 He’s On A Tear

Momentum is huge in combat sports, and “Robocop” is riding a massive wave that will carry plenty of confidence into his ONE debut.

Soldic has won 14 of his last 15 contests, including seven straight, and he even got redemption for the lone blemish in that span by earning a knockout of Du Plessis.

#4 He’s Motivated To Do What Others Can’t

The UFD Gym representative was courted by the leading MMA promotions from all over the world, but he chose ONE because he wanted the toughest challenges.

After announcing the deal, Soldic cited iconic MMA World Champions from the United States who fell short in their quest for gold inside the Circle.

Now, he’s hoping to win ONE World Titles where those others have failed.

#5 He Wants To Compete In Multiple Sports Within ONE

MMA isn’t the only thing on Soldic’s agenda.

The fearsome striker also wants to try his hand at the stand-up sports featured on ONE Championship’s fight cards – and go for gold there, too.

The Croation already holds a perfect 4-0 slate in professional boxing, with each victory coming via knockout.

And with the world’s finest kickboxers and Muay Thai strikers on the ONE roster, he’s eager to test himself in those arenas, too.
