Sergio Wielzen is one of the most accomplished strikers in the world today, having won several titles including a Lion Fight Lightweight World Championship, an It’s Showtime 61MAX World Championship, and two World Version W5 Championships.

Nicknamed “Samurai,” Wielzen was born in the South American former Dutch colony of Suriname, but his mother brought him to the Netherlands as a child in search of better opportunities. One day, Wielzen happened to see some athletes sparring in Muay Thai at a gym in the neighborhood, and was instantly hooked. He trained diligently, and made his professional debut in short order at the age of 16.

Wielzen hasn’t stopped competing ever since, amassing almost 50 wins with half of them coming via knockout to capture multiple title belts. This caught the attention of ONE Championship, and earned him a place in ONE Super Series alongside the world’s very best strikers. His stakes for his ONE debut couldn’t have been any greater, as he was instantly given a shot at the inaugural ONE Super Series Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship. Though unsuccessful on his first bid, he is training daily alongside the likes of Regian Eersel and Lennart Blijd at the famed Sityodtong Amsterdam, and presses on in search of global glory.
