Arjan Bhullar Celebrates 25 Years Of Wrestling’s ‘New World Order’

It’s well-known by now that Arjan “Singh” Bhullar is a huge fan of professional wrestling, and the ONE Heavyweight World Champion already has his sights set on a foray into the world of scripted combat.

The Canadian-Indian star clearly has the wrestling ability and friends in the right places – but he also has the attitude to fit right in.

That became even clearer in Bhullar’s recent Instagram post, which featured him strutting out like Hulk Hogan, playing the air guitar on his World Title belt, and celebrating the famous heel turn from one of his childhood heroes.

In July 1996, Hogan joined Scott Hall and Kevin Nash in a six-man tag team match at WCW’s  Bash On The Beach event, which was dubbed as the “Hostile Takeover Match.”

The legendary Hogan unveiled himself late, much to the surprise of viewers who did not expect the perennial fan favorite to join what became known as the New World Order.

It was a defining day in professional wrestling, and one that enamored the young “Singh.”

“Happy NWO week to all you pro wrestling fans!” Bhullar posted.

“25 years ago, the world turned upside down when Hulk Hogan turned heel on the Hulkamaniacs. It changed the industry forever….and made me a fan 4 Liiiife.”

The group lasted until 2000 in its original run, though it had separated into factions. Its legacy will stay with the sport forever, however, due to the immense scale of its success.

Now a quarter of a century later, superfans like Bhullar are still hyped about the game-changing stable that left such a huge imprint in history.

They are the kinds of moments that captured the burgeoning wrestler’s attention – and the reason why he’s still gunning for his own run in the world of sports entertainment at the age of 35.
