‘Red Zone’ – Vitaly Bigdash Hits Training Peak Ahead Of Next Fight With Aung La N Sang

Former ONE Middleweight World Champion Vitaly Bigdash walks to the Circle

Former ONE Middleweight World Champion Vitaly Bigdash has offered a glimpse into his intense training camp before his next fight with Aung La N Sang.

Bigdash and Aung La N Sang will look to settle their trilogy in a rubber match at ONE: FULL CIRCLE on Friday, 25 February, and the Russian has done everything in his power to prepare himself for the mammoth task ahead.

This includes his “red zone” day, which pushed him to his limits at the crescendo of his fight camp for the bout at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Posting on instagram, Bigdash said:

“Today is the day of the red zone ❤️‍🔥😤… heavy training aimed at the closest possible pace to combat … 30 seconds of pad work or [wrestling] and 30 seconds of fighting.. the time is 5 minutes and there are 3 rounds.”

Bigdash knows “The Burmese Python” well as the pair shared the Circle for 10 rounds in back-to-back World Title tilts in 2017.

In the first battle, the Rostov native outlasted Aung La N Sang to retain his gold, but the Myanmar sports icon started his incredible run at the top when he snatched the belt in their second encounter.

Tied at 1-1, the middleweight finishers could put an end to their rivalry in Singapore, especially with an emphatic finish. Both men have their eyes on Reinier de Ridder’s ONE Middleweight World Title gold and victory could secure another chance to compete for the division’s biggest prize.

That has further motivated Bigdash, who simply wrote in another Instagram post:

“Ready for battle.”

Vitaly Bigdash Vs. Aung La N Sang III – A Trilogy 5 Years In The Making

Since their first two meetings five years ago, the two athletes’ careers have moved in different directions.

Vitaly Bigdash hit a skid with a loss to Leandro Ataides, but has since posted consecutive submission wins on the global stage.

Aung La N Sang went on to hold the ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Titles simultaneously, and he racked up one of the greatest runs in the promotion’s history.

Their third encounter was slated to happen in both 2020 and 2021, but it didn’t come into fruition, and after his latest submission victory over “King Kong Warrior” Fan Rong, Bigdash only had one name on his mind.

He called out “The Burmese Python” in no uncertain terms during his post-fight interview at ONE: WINTER WARRIORS II.

“I have only one opponent in mind. That’s Aung La. I’m waiting for you. Get over here!”

The 37-year-old Russian knows that he will be in a prime spot to challenge for Reinier de Ridder’s ONE Middleweight World Title if he can take out Aung La N Sang, given that he is one of the only remaining top contenders in the middleweight division who hasn’t faced “The Dutch Knight” yet.

Bigdash will have a front row seat for De Ridder’s World Title fight in Singapore, as he defends his gold in the ONE: FULL CIRCLE main event against ONE Welterweight World Champion Kiamrian Abbasov.
