Arjan Bhullar Calls Out Pro Wrestling Stars After MMA World Title

Scenes from the ONE Heavyweight World Title fight between Arjan Bhullar and Brandon Vera at ONE: DANGAL on 15 May

Arjan “Singh” Bhullar took his place at the top of the mixed martial arts world when he won the ONE Heavyweight World Championship earlier this month. Now, he’s set on set dominating another arena.

The Commonwealth Games Wrestling Gold Medalist and Canadian Freestyle Wrestling Olympian honed his skills in the amateur game growing up, but he was also a huge fan of pro wrestling.

With that in mind, the 35-year-old thinks the time is right to make a big entrance into the scripted — but no less explosive — branch of sports entertainment.

While standing in the Circle following his World Championship-winning TKO of Brandon “The Truth” Vera at ONE: DANGAL, Bhullar confirmed the next item on his agenda.

“I have reached the pinnacle of this sport. Now, I want to attack the pro wrestling industry. AEW, WWE, I’m coming for you guys next. Consider this a warning shot,” the Canadian-Indian proclaimed.

Bhullar’s bold words immediately caught the attention of WWE star Baron “The King” Corbin,” who stated, “Dude must be drunk!” However, Bhullar quickly clapped back and showed that he has no intention of backing down.

With his athleticism, skill, and size, “Singh” believes he can make a major dent wherever he ends up, and he’s started to call out more big names in the pro wrestling industry.

One of those names is WWE Champion and former mixed martial arts competitor Bobby Lashley, who recently found himself on the American Kickboxing Academy athlete’s hit list. A matchup featuring Lashley and Bhullar could be a crossover hit between the mixed martial arts and professional wrestling fan bases.

Along with his own love of professional wrestling, “Singh” is also motivated by the appetite for it in his ancestral homeland of India.

Tens of millions tune in to WWE when it airs in the country on television, and that would give Bhullar another massive stage to entertain and inspire his people.

It’s more than just a pipe dream for the Canadian-Indian, too, as “Singh” has already trained with his friend and WWE star Jinder “The Maharaja” Mahal to get a taste of the squared circle.

There are legions of fans in India, North America, and around the world who would love to see Bhullar mix it up with some of the most athletic heavyweight monsters on the planet, and the newly crowned ONE World Champion is ready to apply his world-class wrestling to any challenge.
