John Wayne Parr Channels His Inner Tony Jaa

10-time Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion John Wayne Parr poses in his ONE Championship gloves

Muay Thai legend John Wayne “The Gunslinger” Parr climbed the tree in a display of his wide array of skills, and it was compared to martial arts film star Tony Jaa’s version in a classic movie.

In a recent social media post, the Australian striker charged at his training partner, placed his right foot on his pal’s lead quadricep, and climbed up his body.

Once Parr stabilized himself with his left leg on his teammate’s shoulder, he then dropped down with a climactic elbow to the top of his buddy’s head.

The technique reflects Jaa’s rendition in the 2003 film Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior.

“As a professional monkey, I have to admit that these trees aren’t going to climb themselves,” the 10-time kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion wrote in the caption.

The fun maneuver may be difficult to perform during a real competition, but it looks great on the silver screen for viewers across the world.

Maybe we will see Parr and Jaa team up for a dual showcase of the technique in the near future.
