The Best Knockouts From The Stars Of ONE: BIG BANG II

Just last week at ONE: BIG BANG, the martial arts world witnessed a dominant TKO finish, a 37-second highlight-reel KO, and a come-from-behind knockout victory in the main event.

Now the star athletes of ONE: BIG BANG II, a previously recorded event that airs this Friday, 11 December, will look to replicate all that excitement at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

With that said, here are four of the most memorable knockouts from the stars of the upcoming finale to the BIG BANG series.

Naito’s Life-Draining Combos

Shoot Boxing Champion Taiki “Silent Sniper” Naito started his undefeated streak in ONE Super Series Muay Thai against Alexi “Phet” Serepisos at ONE: DAWN OF VALOR in October 2019.

From the onset, “Silent Sniper” picked apart his opponent with punches and low kicks that left Serepisos limping. And though the man from New Zealand was able to gain his footing in the second round, it wasn’t enough to withstand the force of Naito’s attacks.

The Japanese athlete poured on the shots in the final round, scoring a knockdown with a right hook. “Phet” returned to his feet, but that would be his final chance.

Naito quickly jumped at his wounded rival and launched a series of unanswered punches that ricocheted off the head and arms of Serepisos, causing the referee to stop the bout with just 15 seconds left.

Now, Naito will look for a similar outcome against his next opponent, former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan “The General” Haggerty in the main event of ONE: BIG BANG II.

Holzken Starches ‘Good Boy’

On 17 November 2018, the stage was set for Nieky “The Natural” Holzken’s ONE Super Series debut in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Fans were packed inside the Istora Senayan to watch “The Natural” battle his old foe, Cosmo “Good Boy” Alexandre, in the co-main event of ONE: WARRIOR’S DREAM. Though the Dutch kickboxing legend won their first battle by decision, the rematch had a more decisive result.

In round one, Holzken scored two knockdowns on Alexandre – first with a left high kick and then with a left hook. The finish, however, came in round two.

Holzken marched forward, forcing Alexandre to fight off the back foot. “Good Boy” tried to hold off the advancing Dutchman with body kicks, but a spinning hook kick followed by a straight right sent Alexandre into the Circle Wall.

With just one second remaining in the round, “The Natural” starched the Brazilian with a right uppercut to score the walk-off KO win.

Holzken will now battle Australian rising star Elliot “The Dragon” Compton in the co-main event of ONE: BIG BANG II.

Kim’s Massive Liver Shot

Promotional newcomer “The Fighting God” Kim Jae Woong carried six highlight-reel finishes into his battle with Rafael “Indio” Nunes at ONE: MASTERS OF FATE in November 2019.

And before the third round came to a close, “The Fighting God” moved that number to seven.

Over the course of two-and-a-half rounds, Kim – a former undefeated boxer – looked loose and fluid as he threw darts at Nunes from the outside and ripped into his body with shovel hooks.

Then in the third stanza, Kim landed the finishing blow – a left hook to the liver of Nunes, which forced the Brazilian to turn away and absorb a flurry of jumping knees before the referee intervened to save him from further damage.

“The Fighting God” next faces Tetsuya “MMA Fantasista” Yamada at ONE: BIG BANG II, and he will undoubtedly attempt to stiffen up the Japanese athlete’s body with those troubling shovel hooks.

Motamed Kicks Off Impressive OWS Run

Ali Motamed may be making his main roster debut at ONE: BIG BANG II, but the Iranian has already tasted plenty of success in Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series, where he racked up three victories.

The most impressive of those victories came in Motamed’s debut at the inaugural OWS event in March 2018, as he put Dawoon Jung to sleep with a head kick in the second round of their mixed martial arts clash.

At the start of the round, Dawoon attempted a cartwheel kick, but Motamed evaded, leaving his South Korean opponent off-balance and subsequently floored.

Dawoon tried to return to his feet, but just as he lifted himself from the canvas, Motamed launched a head kick that immediately turned off his rival’s lights.

Motamed will now look to bring his winning ways to the global stage against “The Ghost” Chen Rui in Friday’s current-raiser.
