Brandon Vera, John Cena Discuss ‘F9’ And ONE: DANGAL

ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon Vera talks with WWE Champion John Cena

Brandon “The Truth” Vera is one of the most revered martial artists in ONE Championship, while John Cena is a superstar in his own field of professional wrestling.

Both men have also made a move to the silver screen, but in their recent encounter, ONE’s reigning heavyweight king took the role of interviewer alongside the WWE legend.

Vera – who is set to defend his ONE Heavyweight World Title against Arjan “Singh” Bhullar at ONE: DANGAL – sat down with the American wrestling icon to discuss the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster “Fast & Furious 9.”

Cena stars as villain Jakob Toretto in the latest installment of the massive action film franchise. When discussing the high-octane fight scenes in “F9,” talk turned to both martial arts and Vera’s upcoming World Title defense, which airs this Saturday, 15 May.

Vera asked the 13-time WWE Champion whether he ever had an interest in mixed martial arts prior to his pro wrestling career, while Cena gave “The Truth” encouragement for the matchup with Bhullar.

“I wish you luck, I know how much training goes into every bout. It’s a whole heap of work to get to the top, and it’s a different mountain to stay at the top,” Cena offered.

Check out their full conversation above for more on the all-action blockbuster, Cena’s favorite cars from the movie, and how both martial arts and professional wrestling have their place in the acting world.
