5 Epic Knockouts From The Stars Of ONE: NEXTGEN

Light heavyweight kickboxers Mihajlo Kecojevic and Beybulat Isaev fight at ONE: UNBREAKABLE II in January 2021

There are some seriously big hitters lined up for the ONE: NEXTGEN card on Friday, 29 October.

From the women’s atomweight ranks right up to the big men of the heavyweight division, these concussive strikers can deliver a finish at any moment.

To get you hyped for fight night, here are five of their greatest knockout victories on the global stage.

#1 Kryklia Blasts His Way To World Title Win

Roman Kryklia entered ONE Super Series with a bang when he took out the previously unstoppable Tarik “The Tank” Khbabez at ONE: AGE OF DRAGONS in November 2019.

The Ukrainian showed that his chin could withstand “The Tank’s” heavy hands in the first round of their ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Title clash – and he took control with an onslaught in the second frame.

Kryklia began that second round by firing a right hand and right head kick to wobble the Dutch-Moroccan, and he kept up the pressure from there with a pair of left uppercuts that sent Khbabez to the deck.

The Gridin Gym representative then refused to ease up when Khbabez regained his feet. He launched a barrage of knees and punches at “The Tank,” whose only defense was to shell up and turn away until the referee gave him a standing eight-count.

Khbabez had the heart to battle on, but Kryklia took the decision out of his hands. The towering Ukrainian slammed a pair of right hands and a crunching left hook into his rival’s jaw, prompting the referee to wave off the contest.

At ONE: NEXTGEN, Kryklia will go for gold in a second division as he takes on debutant Iraj Azizpour in a rubber match for the inaugural ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Title.

#2 Stamp Pounds Out Tomar In Bangkok

Stamp Fairtex continued to showcase her improvement in mixed martial arts when she defeated Puja “The Cyclone” Tomar at ONE: A NEW TOMORROW in January 2020.

The former ONE Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion moved to 4-0 in her new sport when she finished her Indian rival with a barrage of ground-and-pound in the first round.

Stamp defended a takedown attempt by deftly moving out to Tomar’s back. From there, she never let “The Cyclone” back into the fight.

After an initial rear-naked choke attempt failed, Tomar managed to briefly escape into a leg entanglement. Stamp anticipated it, though, and smashed her way through the guard to get back to mount.

“The Cyclone” turned away from a barrage of punches, but there was no respite. The Thai star took her opponent’s back again and drilled in a constant stream of punches until the referee intervened and awarded her the TKO victory

Next, Stamp will face tough Brazilian Julie Mezabarba in a ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix semifinal bout.

#3 Miao’s Right Hook Takes Out Bunsrun

For a strawweight, Miao Li Tao packs some serious heat in his punches.

The Chinese athlete showcased that firepower in his promotional debut against Sim Bunsrun at ONE: IMMORTAL PURSUIT in November 2017.

The Cambodian initially defended Miao’s wrestling-heavy attack, but this left him at the mercy of his rival’s striking.

Bunsrun threw a loose right kick at the Beijing resident and didn’t react fast enough to block the counter. Miao charged forward with a big right hook that buckled his foe to the canvas and then followed up with hammerfists to seal the deal

#4 Miado Takes Out A Striking Legend

Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado is another strawweight slugger who can end proceedings in an instant.

He did just that at ONE: IRON WILL in March 2018 when he shocked the world with a KO of Muay Thai legend Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke.

The Filipino happily traded with the former ONE Strawweight World Champion despite the disparity in their striking experience – and he repeatedly found a home for his hands.

He used his speed advantage to tag the Thai icon and connected with looping hooks and uppercuts. “Kru Rong” wasn’t deterred, however, and he stepped forward to attack.

That aggression ultimately led to the finish. “The Jaguar” stung Dejdamrong with a left hook-right hook combination and then delivered the final salvo as the Thai star lunged in with an overhand right.

Miado uncorked a four-punch combination that caught his rival with his chin in the air. The last of those blows connected flush on the jaw and separated Dejdamrong from his senses

At ONE: NEXTGEN, “The Jaguar” goes up against Miao Li Tao in a rematch of their 2019 battle, and he’ll be hoping for another first-round KO.

#5 Isaev Finishes Kecojevic In Style

Beybulat Isaev offered up an early contender for Knockout of the Year when he starched Mihajlo Kecojevic at ONE: UNBREAKABLE II this past January.

The Russian found himself at the end of Kecojevic’s reach in the early stages of the bout, but he remained composed until he found the right opportunity to attack.

Meanwhile, the Serbian got more aggressive when he found success with his straights, and he stayed inside with the goal of landing his hooks. However, this put him squarely in the firing line.

Isaev slipped a right hand and fired off a right cross-left hook combo that Kecojevic blocked with a high guard. The KBKS man stayed inside and tried to fire back with a hook-cross, but his opponent unleashed a hellish overhand right as his rival’s momentum turned into him.

The punch landed clean on the chin and left Kecojevic face down on the canvas after just 82 seconds

On 29 October, Isaev returns against newcomer Bogdan “Bucharest Bad Boy” Stoica in a light heavyweight kickboxing clash.
