4 Lightning-Fast Finishes By The Stars Of ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX IV

South Korean MMA star Kwon Won Il is ready for Eric Kelly

ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX IV will hit the airwaves this Friday, 20 November, and fans won’t want to blink when the action begins.

That’s because the stars competing at this previously recorded event have wasted no time seeking out finishes in the past – including some of the quickest endings ever witnessed in ONE Championship.

From knockouts to submissions, here are four of the fastest victories in The Home Of Martial Arts from the athletes who are set to fight this Friday in Singapore.

“Golden Boy” Wang Junguang made his ONE debut in a manner most can only dream about. The Chinese star exploded onto the global stage with a first-round knockout of Federico “The Little Big Man” Roma at ONE: DAWN OF VALOR in October 2019.

The first of three knockdowns happened with just over a minute remaining in the round. A step-in right knee was followed by a crushing left hook that connected to the side of Roma’s head. Noticing the impact, Wang put together a flurry of punches that dropped his opponent to the mat.

Roma pressed forward, trying to work himself back into the contest, but that aggression was met with a piston of a straight right that sent him crashing to the canvas again.

Knowing his opponent was reeling and hearing the 10-second warning, Wang backed Roma to the Circle Wall and unleashed rapid-fire right and left hooks until the referee stepped in to call the action.

On Friday, “Golden Boy” will look to have the same type of success in the main event slot of ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX IV opposite Aslanbek Zikreev.

‘Pretty Boy’ Enters The Record Books

At ONE: ROOTS OF HONOR in April 2019, “Pretty Boy” Kwon Won Il needed less than 20 seconds to oust Eric “The Natural” Kelly in their electric featherweight meeting.

As the two athletes met in the center of the Circle and threw punches simultaneously, Kwon’s straight right landed cleanly. His technique was flawless, and that perfect execution allowed the South Korean’s punch to land first and hardest.

Next, a furious storm of ground-and-pound – with bout-ending hammerfists – closed the show and put “Pretty Boy” on the map.

By getting the win in 19 seconds, the South Korean earned the second-fastest knockout and finish in ONE’s featherweight division.

On Friday, Kwon will hope to make another emphatic statement against the finisher below.

‘Puccibull’ Slays The ‘White Dragon’

Bruno “Puccibull” Pucci was on a mission at ONE: WARRIOR’S DREAM in November 2018, and he successfully completed that mission in less than a minute against “White Dragon” Xie Chao.

Pucci marched forward from the opening bell, intent on starting quickly and putting the pressure on his Chinese opponent. He closed the distance and scored a body lock takedown just 20 seconds into the contest.

Xie was active from the bottom and tried to push off of Pucci’s hips to get back to his feet. However, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace was wise to the move, stood up before “White Dragon” could push him away, and snatched a guillotine choke.

The Chinese athlete tried with all his might to escape, but Pucci’s crushing squeeze put him to sleep before he could get his head out of danger. It took only 56 seconds to get the job done.

“Puccibull” will try to keep his perfect 100 percent finishing rate intact against Kwon Won Il in Singapore.

‘The Big Heart’ Submits A Myanmar Star

“The Big Heart” Yoon Chang Min wasted no time getting his bout with Phoe “Bushido” Thaw to the canvas at ONE: CENTURY in October 2019.

Following an immediate takedown, Yoon found success with his ground-and-pound and then advanced positions until he got into mount near the midpoint of the first round.

As “Bushido” tried to escape and moved to his left hip, “The Big Heart” slyly snuck his left arm under the chin. The right arm soon came to tighten up the rear-naked choke, and the Myanmar athlete was forced to tap.

Yoon will attempt to keep his record perfect with another finish when he meets Ryogo “Kaitai” Takahashi at ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX IV in a pivotal featherweight contest.
