3 Of Han Zi Hao’s Greatest Moments In ONE Super Series

Han Zi Hao knocks out Andrew Miller

Han Zi Hao is one of the most explosive athletes in ONE Super Series, and his back catalog reflects his exciting attributes.

Next, the Chinese knockout artist will aim to deliver another high-octane performance when he fights Victor “Leo” Pinto in a bantamweight Muay Thai bout at ONE: NEXTGEN II on Friday, 12 November.

Before Han returns to action at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, check out three memorable moments that established him as a star in ONE’s all-striking league.

#3 Makes His Mark With First KO

Han scored his first knockout in the promotion against Ryan “The Filipino Assassin” Jakiri back at ONE: PURSUIT OF GREATNESS in October 2018.

The two strikers started their bout at a furious pace, and the Filipino looked to catch his rival’s kicks so he could counter with his hands. However, this strategy ultimately led to his downfall.

At the midway point of the first frame, Jakiri caught Han’s kick, turned it away, and tried to find a home for his left hook. The shot glanced off the Chinese athlete’s head, but it wasn’t enough to stop the incoming collision.

With “The Filipino Assassin’s” left arm now out of position, Han uncorked a hellish right hand that connected cleanly on his foe’s jaw and instantly separated him from his senses.

That win earned Han the first bantamweight knockout in ONE Super Series – as well as his second victory in the promotion – and it sent a warning to the division that he was a force to be reckoned with.

#2 Returns To Form With Stoppage Of Miller

Han thrilled his home crowd when he knocked out Andrew “Maddog Fairtex” Miller at ONE: LEGENDARY QUEST in Shanghai back in June 2019.

Miller absorbed some hard shots from the Mad Muay Thai Gym and Shunyuan Fight Club representative, but Han stepped on the gas to put the durable Scot away in round two.

After getting dropped by a hard left, “Maddog Fairtex” managed to find some respite in the clinch and came at his foe with elbows – although that resurgance was short-lived.

Han replied with his hands, which proved to be more effective. The 26-year-old sent Miller reeling into the corner with a salvo of punches and followed up with a hard jab-cross that dropped his opponent to the canvas.

With the Fairtex man unable to continue, the referee waved off the contest, and Han got back on track following his decision loss to Nong-O Gaiyanghadao for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title four months earlier.

#1 Becomes Top ONE Super Series Finisher

Han’s latest KO win came over Mohammed “Jordan Boy” Bin Mahmoud at ONE: REIGN OF DYNASTIES II in October 2020.

The first two rounds were evenly contested, but the Chinese knockout machine found a home for his iron fists late in the second frame. A pair of right hands wobbled the Malaysian and gave him two standing eight-counts, though “Jordan Boy” made it to the bell.

Han didn’t let up in round three, and buoyed by his late success in the previous stanza, he aggressively went after his adversary.

The finish came when he rocked Mohammed with another hard right hand and then followed up with a stiff left that sent him down again.

Though the Malaysian tried to continue, the referee waved off the contest to give Han his fourth KO win in ONE Super Series. The victory also established the Chinese power puncher as the joint-top finisher in ONE’s all-striking league alongside Sam-A Gaiyanghadao and Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy.

Han then recorded a decision win over Adam Noi at ONE: FISTS OF FURY II this past March, and he’ll hope a third consecutive victory over Pinto will be enough to put him back in the World Title conversation.
