3 Fights That Showcase Stamp Fairtex’s Elite Striking Prowess

Stamp defeated Julie Mezabarba by unanimous decision at ONE: NEXTGEN.

Stamp Fairtex has brilliantly evolved into her new career as a mixed martial artist. And while she has made impressive strides in her overall skill set, striking is the foundation of her combat sports pedigree.

Before she became known for her dominant mixed martial arts performances, the Thai sensation caught the attention of the global fan base in Muay Thai and kickboxing by winning ONE World Title gold in both sports.

This Friday, 3 December, Stamp faces off against Ritu “The Indian Tigress” Phogat in the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix Championship Final at ONE: WINTER WARRIORS, and it will be her punches, kicks, knees, and elbows that offer her the best route to victory in their co-main event clash inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Just days before Stamp’s most important MMA contest yet, take a look back at some of her greatest displays of striking talent.

#1 An Impressive Debut

Though some fans may have watched her knock out Rashi Shinde at OWS 2 in July 2018, Stamp rose to prominence when she made her big-show debut against “Killer Bee” Chuang Kai Ting at ONE: KINGDOM OF HEROES in October 2018.

The Fairtex athlete stepped up to challenge “Killer Bee” for her ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title, and the pair went back and forth for five rounds in an intriguing clash of styles.

Stamp’s Muay Thai pedigree shined through as she utilized her power advantage and thudding right kicks to fend off her rival, and then outhustled the Chinese striker at close range.

Chuang kept pressing, but Stamp didn’t falter. Though she was somewhat out of her comfort zone with the rule set, the Thai star stuck to what she knew best and punished her foe whenever she tried to work her way inside.

After 15 hard-fought minutes, Stamp earned her first World Championship belt – and kick-started an impressive run in ONE Super Series.

#2 Powerful Boxing In Muay Thai World Title Bout

Stamp returned to her roots in “the art of eight limbs” for her next outing against Janet “JT” Todd at ONE: CALL TO GREATNESS in February 2019.

The Thai showcased her boxing skill against her American rival and landed straight punches throughout the battle, particularly with her right hand, which was an effective bludgeoning tool when “JT” tried to press forward to score with her own offense.

Some kicks, knees, and dumps also landed for the Fairtex representative as she blasted her way to an incredible unanimous decision victory.

With the win, the Pattaya resident became the first two-sport World Champion in ONE history. And a victory on 3 December will bring her closer than ever to her goal of making that an unprecedented three, as it would book a showdown with ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee.

#3 Effective MMA Striking Against Mezabarba

Stamp’s striking has been a major factor in many of her mixed martial arts wins, but she will feel buoyed by her latest outing against Julie Mezabarba at ONE: NEXTGEN from this past October.

Ahead of their Grand Prix semifinal meeting, the Brazilian said that Stamp was “too slow” and thought she could outstrike her en route to a spot in the tournament finale.

However, the 24-year-old had other plans. She slammed her kicks into Mezabarba’s legs and body and mostly steered clear of her opponent’s lunging counters.

The RD Champions representative had also stated that Stamp’s footwork was below par, but the Thai superstar used feints and movement to stay a step ahead of her foe – a tactic that bodes well for her upcoming tilt with wrestling sensation Phogat, who’ll be shooting for takedowns whenever the opportunity arises.

Notably, it was one of Stamp’s most complete performances, as she used her striking seamlessly alongside her wrestling and ground game to secure a huge win by unanimous decision.
