WBC Muay Thai International Champion Kohei Kodera, better known by his ring name of “Momotaro,” grew up on the outskirts of Tokyo and was an athletically-gifted child. He began training in karate in kindergarten, played baseball in elementary school, and joined the track & field club as a middle schooler.
Kodera stepped away from martial arts when he was in high school to focus on track & field competition, but felt the itch to resume his training after graduating and joined a kickboxing gym with fitness in mind. Little did he know, it would mark the beginning of a highly-successful martial arts career.
After making his professional debut at the age of 20, Kodera claimed numerous titles, such as the WBC Japan Muay Thai and NJKF Kickboxing Featherweight Championships, on the way to an impressive winning record against opponents from all around the world. After dreaming of competing in ONE Championship for many years, his dream finally became a reality in 2019. He now hopes to become a ONE World Champion and become an example to the world of the importance of pursuing your dreams.
