Final Bouts Confirmed For Stacked ONE: A NEW ERA Card

The stacked card for ONE: A NEW ERA at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan has been bolstered with a glut of world-class martial arts match-ups.

The contests added to ONE Championship’s first event in Japan on 31 March will feature some of the breakout stars from the past 12 months in The Home Of Martial Arts.

In mixed martial arts, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon will return to featherweight action against Indonesia’s Anthony “The Archangel” Engelen.

The American submission artist has enjoyed a perfect 3-0 start to his cage career after he competed exclusively as a grappler, and he will face a test from a well-rounded Dutch-Indonesian opponent who has scored a stoppage in each of his five wins in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

Also, former ONE World Title challenger Mei “V.V.” Yamaguchi will look to prove she is still the top contender in the women’s atomweight division when she meets Russian debutante Kseniya “White Tiger” Lachkova.

The ONE Super Series lineup is also stacked, as two-time Omnoi Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon will return for the second time in 2019 following his defeat of Fahdi Khaled last month.

He will face two-time Muay Thai World Champion Hakim Hamech – who scored a spectacular KO in his ONE debut – in a flyweight match.

The art of eight limbs will also be on display when the picture-perfect technique of two-time Muay Thai World Champion Panicos Yusuf is put up against the power of Malaysia’s Mohammed “Jordan Boy” Bin Mahmoud.

Home fans will also have a hero to cheer for on the prelims as Japanese karate sensation Hiroki Akimoto steps under the lights for the second time in The Home Of Martial Arts.

He will also look to build on his stunning debut win against Josh Tonna last month when he faces Joseph “The Hurricane” Lasiri in a flyweight kickboxing match-up.

Finally, South Korea’s Yoon Chang Min will face India’s Bala Shetty in a lightweight mixed martial arts bout to kick off the show.
