Cambodian mixed martial arts champion Sim Bunsrun is from Cambodia’s Kampong Cham province, and began training full-time for professional competition in 2013 after learning about Cambodian promotion Khmer Warrior Challenge. Two weeks after beginning training, Bunsrun had his first-ever professional bout, but would ultimately lose by decision.

Undeterred, Bunsrun persevered, and trained diligently under Kru Reach at Cambodian Top Team, a camp in Phnom Penh which is home to many of the country’s top prospects. Through pure hard work, he finally realized his goal by becoming the Khmer Warrior Challenge Season 3 Flyweight Champion in 2014.

After watching ONE Championship on Cambodian TV for many years, Bunsrun set a new goal for himself, which was to make it to the global stage. He got his opportunity at ONE: KINGDOM OF KHMER in December 2015, handily submitting countryman Khon Sichan in the very first round to make a perfect start to his ONE Championship career.
