MAIN EVENT

Kotetsu Boku lost his ONE FC Lightweight World Championship title to Shinya Aoki at ONE FC: KINGS & CHAMPIONS but he knows there is no shame in being beaten by the best pound-for-pound Asian fighter. Now, he is looking to get back to winning ways against Muay Thai world champion Vuyisile Colossa.

Colossa is one of the best stand-up fighters to ever compete in MMA and the fact that most of his wins have come by way of KO reflects his ultra-aggressive style. Colossa, who is based in Hong Kong, has devastating low kicks and brutal knees as numerous opponents have discovered to their cost. Colossa will want to control this match with his world class Muay Thai but Boku has an iron chin and never backs down from a striking exchange which should make for a thrilling fight for the ONE FC fans around the world.

In 30 fights, Boku has never once been stopped by strikes, which is testament to his durable chin and Colossa will need to be at his most powerful if he wants to put away the Japanese veteran with strikes. With a record of 20-8-2, Boku has much more experience in MMA and is a Shooto veteran with seven KO wins to his name who is more than capable of finishing a fight with a swing of his fist. With two heavy hitters facing off in the cage, experts agree that this fight is unlikely to go the distance. Don’t blink because someone is going to get knocked out!

Story

Jake Butler is an NCAA Division One Level wrestler and Princeton Graduate whose decision to turn his back on a career on Wall Street to move to Asia and pursue his professional MMA dream has made headlines all over the world. He has already tasted victory twice inside the ONE FC cage but is in for the toughest fight of his career against 4x Kickboxing World Champion James Kouame.

Kouame has a professional MMA record of 1-1 and holds a second Dan black belt in Kyokushin Karate. At his most recent MMA fight, the Canadianscored a spectacular head kick KO which demonstrated just how dangerous he can be competing inside the cage. Butler’s record stands at 2-0 and he is already being tipped by pundits as a contender for the inaugural ONE FC Light Heavyweight World Championship belt. Butler got the crowd roaring when he utilised his high-level wrestling to dictate the pace of the fight and manhandle his previous opponents in the cage with devastating strength.

This is a classic contest between a wrestler and a striker and if Kouame can keep it standing, he will be a hot favourite to score a highlight reel KO. But Butler has wrestled at the highest level and if the New Jersey native gets the takedown, he is likely to dominate and finish with either strikes or a submission. With both fighters having such contrasting skillsets, this is one bout which is unlikely to last longer than a round and promises a spectacular finish.

That plays perfectly into the hands of his opponent, who is based in Hong Kong, but has some of the best striking in the entire heavyweight division and will is desperate to turn this fight into a striking war.

Both fighters have the potential to finish the fight with a single strike and it could just come down to who lands first. With Ngalani having won world titles in both kickboxing and Muay Thai and holding a black belt in Kyukoshin Karate he might feel he has the experience and ability to score a stunning knock out against the Egyptian but Hassan is a seasoned boxer who knows he only needs to land one punch to finish the fight.

This match also pits two countries which are bitter sporting rivals together in the ONE FC cage as Majid will be representing Indonesia and will be guaranteed the support of 15,000 fans at the Istora Senayan Stadium, while Tan is Malaysian, meaning that he will be giving his all for the sake of his nation’s pride.

Despite being born and bred in Malaysia, Tan’s father hails from Baguio in the Philippines – the same place which produced ONE FC’s first Filipino world champion Honorio Banario. He comes from a boxing background and has a professional MMA record of 1-1. His opponent is making his professional MMA debut, so Tan will have an advantage in terms of experience, but he will have to contend with the enormous size and power of the big Indonesian.

Majid is a national Judo champion, a four-time submission grappling champion and is ranked top ten in his weight class at Combat Sambo. His professional MMA debut has been delayed due to the shortage of potential opponents of similar size and stature in Indonesia. He is known as “Jack Hammer” because of the power with which he hits and is being tipped as a contender for the ONE FC Light Heavyweight World Title. With these two behemoths locking horns, this match is sure to be a blockbuster.

Story

This fight pits two seasoned fighters from totally different martial arts backgrounds together. Long Sophy is a Kun Khmer Boxing champion and a legend in his native Cambodia where he is a veteran of over 100 fights and has won numerous belts and titles. Indonesian Max Metino has been training since the age of nine in a diverse array of disciplines including Akido, Kung Fu, Taekwondo, boxing, kickboxing and BJJ.

With 15,000 fans packing Istora Senayan Stadium in Jakarta, there will be a lot of pressure on Metino as he makes his professional MMA debut as he is sure to have plenty of fans cheering his every strike. Due to ONE FC's success and popularity, numerous fighters in Cambodia are starting to train MMA and to fight but unfortunately for Sophy, his reputation as a Kun Khmer champion has made it impossible to find local opponents willing to face him.

Sophy’s favourite weapons are his elbows and he has used them to devastating effect in his fighting career to date. If he can keep the fight standing, he is confident he will be able to destroy the Indonesian with an onslaught of strikes. Metino has a purple belt in BJJ and will be a strong favorite to win by submission if the fight goes to the ground. But he also has a lot of experience in striking-based styles causing experts to predict that this will be a stand-up war as the two fighters lock horns. This match has every potential to garner “Fight of the Night” honors.

Story

Almiro Barros is a BJJ black belt and BJJ world champion who will be one of the best submission artists in the entire Flyweight division when he makes his debut at ONE FC: Champions & Warriors. The Brazilian trains at the world renowned Evolve MMA gym in Singapore where he has been working under the team of Muay Thai world champions but he is still best known for his elite level grappling and if he can get the fight to the ground then he will be confident of finishing it with some sort of choke or hold.

Kian Pham is an MMA veteran who has been taking on much bigger opponents throughout his career, due to the shortage of Flyweights in his native Australia. He believes that he will be a dominant force at 56kg and with 13 fights already to his name there is a vast gulf in experience between these two fighters. With his superb submission game Barros has the tools to bridge this gap but Pham is also extremely accomplished on the ground which should make for a close and highly competitive fight.

Story

Raymond Tan has a background in Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is one of the founding members of Penang Top Team in Malaysia. He made his professional MMA debut in 2011 as a Lightweight but will be competing on 13 Sep as a Flyweight. Towering at 180cm, his height and reach is likely to keep most Flyweight opponents at a range they cannot utilise. Much will depend on whether he still retains his strength and stamina competing as a Flyweight but with such incredible reach, expect him to utilize plenty of jabs and low kicks while standing and if he can get the fight to the floor, he is extremely adept at using his long limbs to sink in a fight finishing submission.

Brianata Rosadhi made his professional MMA debut earlier this year and won by unanimous decision, but he is highly experienced in other disciplines and has enjoyed success in a plethora of different martial arts. He was Banten Wushu champion in 2012, East Java Grappling champion in 2011 and has also secured podium places at numerous grappling competitions in Indonesia. He is most comfortable on the ground and will probably look to use his striking skills to set up a takedown so that he can showcase his submission game. At just 21 years old he is one of the top contenders to emerge from the new generation of Indonesian mixed martial artists and has been training intensively to prepare to represent his country as well as the famous Synergy gym.
